We will only have carryon luggage so no holdups at baggage claim. I was glad to see that there are departures scheduled so frequently, for I'm not sure how long it will take for us to disembark and make it out of the airport to the light rail station. We are scheduled to land at 12:45pm and there are departures from airport station at 1:12pm, 1:27pm, 1:42pm - switching to blue line at Arena Station - total trip time ranges from 66 minutes to 81 minutes. The time expired to edit my original post and update it - but I just found a way to make the trip planner give me a route and it looks totally workable for us to ride Trax from SLC to Draper, timewise anyway. We would really appreciate any experiences you can share. We will be arriving on a Friday afternoon at 12:45pm.Ĭan anyone comment on this, both about the connection and logistics as well as a rough idea of the time it would take? I am planning to call UTA as well about the routing and where/how to transfer, but we are really interested in finding out whatever we can about riding the train before actually doing it. It looks like the closest light rail station to her location is Draper Town Center on Pioneer Rd. I tried it also breaking the trip up into two segments but no luck. I've looked at the UTA website trying to piece together a route and it looks like green line from airport to Salt Lake City central station and then blue line down to Draper, but when I use the trip planner it says no routes are available. We won't need a car once we are there so it doesn't make too much sense to rent a car just to get to her location from the airport, then turn around and return it the next day. Thinking of riding Trax from SLC airport to a station in Draper where a relative can pick us up - far easier for us to ride to her location (even with switching trains) instead of her driving up to airport.
